Pulau Panjang Master Plan

  • Location Seribu Islands, DKI Jakarta
  • Client PT Resor Nusantara Jaya
  • Type Conceptual Master Plan
  • Size ±13,43 ha
  • Awards

Located 60 km from Jakarta, Pulau Panjang is an uninhabited island that was visited by famous Indonesian Islamic figures in the past, making it well-known for its religious sites and attractions. Once, the island was selected as the airport to serve Seribu Islands regency, an effort to boost the tourism but the project abruptly stopped and left the airstrip abandoned until today. Unique circumstances on the island, inspired the master plan to introduce a delicate approach as a response to the massive construction established there before. Regenerative island experience taken as the highlight of this island development, by combining the conservation
sanctuary and wellness retreat activities. Together with the local community, the island’s development represents an effort to progress through the preservation of its natural ecosystem and the adoption of a circular economy model.
