Western Tropical Residence Precinct (Sub WP 2A)

  • Location Nusantara, East Kalimantan
  • Client Nusantara Capital City Authority
  • Type Urban Design Guidelines
  • Size 234 Ha
  • Awards

The relocation of the capital city to IKN has become a priority development project in Indonesia. SSWP 2A-4, located in IKN West, serves as the supporting infrastructure area for the core government zone of the Capital City of Nusantara (KIPP). Its goal is to create a sustainable, safe, and affordable residential area
that ensures a balanced housing ratio, harmonizes with nature, and achieves low carbon emissions. The urban design guidelines are based on a water-sensitive urban design approach, bioclimatic principles for tropical building development that suit the land’s context, and smart city concepts. By using a grading concept that preserves the existing land conditions in the most optimal way, the planning of the area aims to be as natural as possible, maintaining the existing ecosystem, and providing green, active, and inclusive public spaces and supporting facilities.
